ICC suspends Misbah-ul-Haq for slow over rate.
Pakistani captain suspended for one match during the first Test with New Zealand.
The ICC has suspended Misbah for one match due to his slow over rate. Misbah will be missing the second test held in Hamilton. Misbah, was to anyway miss the match due to death of his father-in-law.
This is Misbah second minor rate offence, as both his offences occurred in the period of 12 months, he will be fined 40% of his match fees, and the rest of the team will be fined 20%, 10% for each overs they were short.
The charge was laid by on-field umpires Ian Gould and S Ravi, third umpire Simon Fry, and fourth official Shaun Haig, and imposed by ICC match referee Richie Richardson after Pakistan had fallen two overs short of its target, even after time allowances were taken into consideration.
Pakistan are currently trailing 0–1 in the two-Test series after an eight-wicket loss in Christchurch.
