India start out strong, England offers resilience

England out for 477, India end Day 2 at 60 for no loss trailing by 417 runs

England were in a spot of bother in the morning session as they lost 3 quick wickets and were reduced to 321 for 7, before Dawson and Rashid assumed control. England stretched their first innings total to 477 on Day 2. Dawson (66*) and Adil Rashid (60) launched a rescue act and put on 108 runs to take tourists to 477.

Indian spinners toiled hard but it was the seamers Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav who produced vital breakthroughs.

While Murali Vijay could not open the innings due to injury, KL Rahul and Parthiv Patel made sure India did not lose any wickets before the close of play on the second day of the Test.

Day 2 followed the same pattern of Day 1. England managed to bat consistently in a good manner, which was a surprise, to say the least.

Let’s see if England manages to continue their dominance streak in the bowling, or will India flatten them again.
